{"id":3961,"date":"2023-11-02T15:32:27","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T20:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.appliancemaster.com\/amnews\/?p=3961"},"modified":"2023-11-06T15:37:46","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T20:37:46","slug":"is-your-range-ready-for-the-holidays-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.appliancemaster.com\/amnews\/is-your-range-ready-for-the-holidays-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Your Range Ready For The Holidays?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here&#8217;s a refresher on keeping cooking appliances clean.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If your burners or oven heat unevenly, or there\u2019s a delayed ignition, call Appliance Master for service before you have a bigger problem!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Electric Cooktop:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An&nbsp;<strong>electric cooktop<\/strong>&nbsp;with coiled burners will typically burn off any spills. The drip bowls underneath can be easily taken out for cleaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For larger spills, wait until the burners are cool, then learn how your cooktop \u201copens\u201d; most models are hinged and open just like a car hood. This will allow you to clean underneath the burners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Smooth surface cooktops can be easily wiped clean. Check your manual for recommended cleaning products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Electric Oven:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In an&nbsp;<strong>electric oven<\/strong>, the oven racks can be removed and cleaned as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spills should be wiped up as soon as the oven has cooled to avoid smoking and burning during the next use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When using a chemical oven cleaner, follow the directions very carefully; the fumes are noxious and the chemical is caustic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a self-cleaning oven, try to scrape up and remove any residue from the bottom of the oven cavity before you start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the manufacturer\u2019s instructions and don\u2019t try to force the oven door open until the cycle is completely finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Gas Cooktop:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Spills on grates and burners on a&nbsp;<strong>gas cooktop<\/strong>&nbsp;will usually burn off or you can scrape the residue off. Larger spills should be cleaned as soon as the affected area has cooled off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the burner orifices get clogged, you\u2019ll notice uneven flames. To unclog orifices, gently poke a wooden toothpick through. Use of a metal tool, such as a skewer or paper clip, should be done with care.<br><br>*Has your burner ever started clicking by itself and doesn\u2019t stop? Either a spill or too much cleaning solution has gotten the spark ignitor wet. Wipe up any excess liquid.
