In this weeks episode of APPLIANCE MASTER LIVE, Bill, Kari and Donny surprise a customer with a Laundry Room Inspection. Watch and see what tips they give to keep your washing machine and dryer maintained.
Bill and Kari notice that this customer is using black rubber hoses for their washing machine; Rubber hoses are known to burst under pressure and unfortunately can cause massive flooding in your home. Bill recommends to use stainless steel metal mesh hoses for your washing machine, these hoses are much more durable, are easy to install and last much longer than rubber hoses.
Fabric softener sheets are a common item that are used in clothes dryers to help make your clothes smell better and feel softer to the touch. The drawback of fabric softer sheets is that they leave a residue inside of your dryer and can clog your lint filter. Bill recommends to clean your lint filter every few months with laundry detergent and a soft sponge to clean out all the residue.
One easy way to test to see that you would need to wash your lint filter is to run water on top of the filter to see if water is pooling on top instead of running right through the filter mesh. If your lint filter is pooling water and not draining through it is time to wash the filter.
